Slick Olde Biships (SOBs)

Formed in 1995, The Slick Olde Bishops (later shortened to The SoBs) were a third-wave ska and punk outfit that operated across Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh and State College, through 2002. Originally starting under early moniker variations including The Commie Red Bastards and The Fabulous Five, the group officially established their identity as The Slick Olde Bishops in 1996 before adopting The SoBs for their later releases.

The band's lineup consisted of Dan Weirauch on lead vocals and guitar, Matt Weirauch on lead vocals and trombone, Ryan Miller on trumpet and percussion, Chris Pajak on drums, Mike Thomas on keyboards and flugelhorn, and Clint Van Gemert on bass. During their active seven-year run, they released three full-length albums: Stompings The Corn (1998), Gettin' Rowdy (1999), and FLUX (2002).

Operating in the late 1990s and early 2000s regional ska circuit, The Slick Olde Bishops performed regularly across the tri-state area at venues such as Pittsburgh's Club Laga and the Crowbar in State College. They frequently shared bills with regional ska-punk contemporaries like Skankin' Homer and The Berlin Project before playing their final shows and quietly disbanding in August 2002 alongside acts such as The Pietasters.
